Geography Project - Castlegregory

From 1956-1961, my great uncle Jack Dowling
was a member on the Kerry  football team.
He played in two All Ireland Finals in Croke Park.
This must be some part of where I get my interest in football.

County Kerry is  south of Ireland.Kerrys coast
is facing out towards the Atlantic Ocean
so it has plenty of beaches along  the west coast.
Kerry holds the longest beach in Ireland.Stretching
12 miles long, it starts in Cloghane and runs unbroken
 throughFermoyle, Castlegregory and Maharees.
You are ableto drive your car  along  the 12 mile stretch beach.

starting my geography project

I have always loved playing sports. Football was the first sport I began to play competitively, which I began playing at twelve.
Ever since then I've been really involved in both my local club and the county team - Kildare. I've made the Kildare team twice, and currently playing for them. This is where it all begins, my love for the sport has encouraged me to begin my project on the topic and I'm starting with my great uncle, who also played for his home county - Kerry.

Braveforce

Apart from Carlingford it has to be the best thing we have done in TY so far! When we arrived there I was a bit scared I didnt really know what to expect and especially with the other schools taking it so serious didnt really help either. But running around in muck, jumping in to water and climbing big obstacle is my idea of fun so i loved it and we also got a trophy out of it at the end.

Work Experience

Last week I began my work experience on the 27th February. For my week of work experience I went to Bon Bon cafe in Maynooth. My mam told me about the new cafe and so I gave in a letter to the manager and she rang me back a week later to tell I have my placement.
On monday morning i started at 10,when i got there they sent me straight up the the kitchen with the chef. The cafe is really busy every morning with breakfasts so i went straight in to helping them out.I was preparing the sandwiches and the salads for them, but the boring parts were when i had to do the chopping like a BIG BAG of onions that burned my eyesI was aloud go down for my break at 12:30 or 1:00 to the cafe.Everyday i was finished at 4.My first day was good. Unfortunately everyday was pretty much the same because each week they stick to a new menu so i was making the same things for the day after.I dont know how the chef does it as a career because after a week my back was killing my from standing up all day and lifting heavy boxes.
My last day was a little sad because i spent the week with the same two girls and got to know them. This week im going to give in my cv and hopefully they will consider me for a summer job :)
